How Do We Overcome Negative Thinking & How Much of --------Our Lives Are Effected by it?---------

Negative productivity can impact our work life and leave us feeling unmotivated

Negative productivity can impact our work life and leave us feeling unmotivated and unproductive. However, it is possible to overcome negative thinking and turn it into positive thoughts by using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, meditation, self accountability, recognizing what we can and cannot fix. To do this we have to learn how to recognizing why we tend to focus on negativity and why it is so hard to let go.

There are problems that we just can't fix

The problem is there are many times and so many issues that are beyond our control. Things we can't fix we then get stuck dwelling on it. It turns into a situation where we perseverate on a thought, idea, or situation that hurts and it goes around and around our minds, with no hope of helping just creating more and more pain. Just like a hand fixing the situation when it feels pain by touching a hot stove, how the natural reaction to fix the situation is to remove your hand from that stove, thoughts aren't as easily solved. We get stuck in a dark cycle that will overtake all aspects of your daily living, stuck in a negative thought without a solution day after day. It will effect you relationships, your work performance, even your daily living. If this continues too long it can send you into a deep, dark, spiral where there is no beauty or good anymore.

Overcoming Negativity

One of the first steps in overcoming negative thinking is to identify the negative thought patterns. We often have automatic negative thoughts that are based on irrational or distorted beliefs about ourselves or the world around us. For instance, when something goes wrong, we might jump to conclusions and assume that everything will continue to go wrong. It is essential to become aware of these thought patterns and challenge them.

When a Negative Thought Enters Your Mind

When a negative thought enters your mind , it can effect everything around you, from your daily living, work, or even family environment. It is IMPORTANT to recognize it, identify it, and tell it 'NO! You do NOT have power over me!' You are stronger than your mind, than your thoughts, than your emotions. The important thing is to understand and remember is that you are the one who is in control of your emotional wellbeing, your thoughts, your beliefs, and your emotions do NOT control you, you control them. You are the one who controls who you are, what your thoughts are and how your day will be, only YOU have that power.

How Do You Control Your Thought?

If you start thinking of your thought process as an extension of yourself, like a hand on your arm, you will be able to control it. Just like touching a hot stove, your hand relaxes. The issue with your thoughts are that you tend to sit and dwell on the negativity. You naturally try and fix issues when they arise. This means that when there is a negative aspect of your life you tend to sit and

dwell on in trying to come up with a way to rectify and fix the issue. Recognize and accept the things we can not change, change the things we can, and find the wisdom to know and understand the difference. Than let go of the things we can not change,

What Happens Once We Identify A Negative Thought?

Once we identify negative thought patterns, we can start to challenge them by examining the evidence that supports or contradicts them. This can help us to develop more balanced and realistic beliefs about ourselves and the world around us. For instance, we can challenge the belief that everything will continue to go wrong by considering times when things have gone right in the past.

Meditation is a powerful tool

Meditation is a powerful tool that can help individuals shift from a negative mindset to a more positive one. When we are stuck in a negative mindset, it can be challenging to break free from negative thoughts and emotions, and we may feel overwhelmed and helpless.

Meditation can help us to quiet the mind and focus

Meditation can help us to quiet the mind and focus on the present moment. By doing so, we can become more aware of our thoughts and emotions without becoming attached to them. This can help us to observe negative thoughts without being consumed by them, allowing us to gain perspective and clarity.

Transform the Negative into Positive

Another technique is to reframe negative thoughts into positive ones. This involves taking a negative thought and turning it around into a positive one. For instance, if we are feeling overwhelmed with work, we can reframe the thought "I'll never get this done" into "I'll tackle one task at a time, and I'll get it done."

How do we Get Out of this Negative Mindset?

Mindfulness meditation can also be an effective way to overcome negative thinking. This involves focusing on the present moment and becoming aware of our thoughts and feelings without judgment. By practicing mindfulness, we can learn to observe negative thoughts without becoming caught up in them. This can help us to develop a more positive outlook and overcome negative thinking patterns.

How Can Meditation Help?

Meditation can help us to quiet the mind and focus on the present moment. By doing so, we can become more aware of our thoughts and emotions without becoming attached to them. This can help us to observe negative thoughts without being consumed by them, allowing us to gain perspective and clarity.

What Can Meditation Do?

Through regular meditation practice, we can also develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion. This can help us to become more accepting of our thoughts and emotions, including the negative ones, without judgment or self-criticism. In turn, this can help us to become more resilient and better equipped to deal with negative thoughts and emotions.

Research has shown that regular meditation practice can have a positive impact on mental health, including reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall well-being.

In addition to meditation, there are other mindfulness practices that can help us to shift from a negative mindset to a more positive one. For instance, practicing gratitude can help us to focus on the positive aspects of our lives and develop a more positive outlook. Similarly, engaging in activities that bring us joy and fulfillment can help us to cultivate positive emotions and shift our mindset.

CBT-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Another way to help is something called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps individuals to identify and change negative thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors. It is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy that focuses on the present and how an individual's thoughts and behaviors are affecting their current life.

How Can CBT Help?

The underlying premise of CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. Negative thoughts and beliefs can lead to negative emotions and behaviors, which can create a cycle of negative thinking and behavior. CBT aims to interrupt this cycle by identifying negative thought patterns and beliefs and challenging them to develop more balanced and realistic ones.

How Does CBT Work?

During CBT, individuals work with a professional to identify negative thought patterns and beliefs, such as "I'm not good enough" or "everything always goes wrong." The therapist then helps the individual to challenge these beliefs by examining the evidence that supports or contradicts them. By doing so, the individual can develop more balanced and realistic beliefs that are not driven by negative thinking patterns.

CBT also involves developing new coping strategies and behaviors. For instance, if an individual has a fear of negative performance at work, fear of not making sales quota, they may work with their mental health worker to develop coping strategies, such as deep breathing exercises, positive self-talk, and gradual exposure to situations that can help through role play or sales pitch's.

To Sum It Up...

Overall, CBT is a highly effective therapy that has been shown to be effective in treating a range of mental health conditions, such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. It is a collaborative and goal-oriented therapy that helps individuals to develop more positive thinking patterns and behaviors, ultimately leading to improved mental health and well-being. Also eating healthy and exorcise helps clear your mind as well.

Also, meditation is a powerful tool that can help us to shift from a negative mindset to a more positive one. By quieting the mind and focusing on the present moment, we can become more aware of our thoughts and emotions and gain perspective and clarity. Regular meditation practice, along with other mindfulness practices, can help us to develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and overall well-being.
